What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Programs Monitor position at Wellfleet Recreation?
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of duties to support the Wellfleet Recreation Department.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Recreation Director. Receives assignments from and maintains close
working relationships with the Recreation Director and Assistant Recreation Director
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
1. Organize and support the work and processes of the Recreation Department including sports, events, office work, after-school activities, etc.
2. Coordinate and monitor recreation activities weekdays/nights and weekends.
· monitoring pickleball on weekends
· monitoring Teen Nights or special events as needed
· implementing classes for all ages in subjects such as jewelry making, cooking, dance and music enabling the full utilization of the Elementary School as a community center
3. Phone and email correspondence as well as website and social media updates as requested
4. Setting up/breaking down for sports and events
5. Driving van to various locations (includes transporting children)
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
1. Knowledge of secretarial and clerical principles and practices.
2. Basic math including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately.
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks in an environment of frequent interruptions.
4. Strong customer service and communication skills.
5. Strong skills in organization and planning, problem analysis, decision making, and flexibility.
6. Strong literacy skills.
7. Use of computerized recordkeeping and file management applications including Microsoft Office.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an often- busy environment and includes a normal range of noise and frequent
distractions with very low risks working around standard office equipment, sports equipment, and children. Work involves sitting and working in front of a computer as well as standing/moving for long periods at events, etc.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Two (2) years recent administrative or secretarial experience
- Proficient in the use of computerized information systems: word processing, spreadsheets, computerized recordkeeping and file management applications including Microsoft Office required.
OTHER SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends due to scheduled recreation programming.
- Experience working with children
- Experience with recreation programs and/or familiarity with sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis, pickleball and baseball are helpful
- Ability to work independently to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
- Ability and willingness to learn new computer applications.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job including lifting, carrying items, walking long distances, standing for long periods of time
- Valid Drivers License

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
Schedule:
- Nights as needed
- Weekends as needed
