Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients.

The Quality Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our patients, adhering to clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The ideal candidate will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to monitor care processes, identify areas for improvement, and promote a culture of safety and continuous quality enhancement.

Job Functions:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs tailored to the needs of an inpatient psychiatric facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, State Licensing).
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of patient care processes, medical records, and treatment plans to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Track and analyze quality data related to patient outcomes, safety events, incident reports, and other relevant metrics to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with clinical staff (providers, nurses, social workers, etc.) to monitor and evaluate treatment protocols, ensuring that care is patient-centered, evidence-based, and aligned with best practices.
- Coordinate the implementation of corrective actions and process improvements based on audit findings, patient feedback, and incident reports.
- Facilitate and support staff education on quality standards, patient safety initiatives, and documentation practices.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives, providing regular updates to leadership and the quality improvement team.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date with the latest clinical, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Lead investigations into patient safety concerns, sentinel events, and near misses, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective/preventative actions.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of reports for internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and accrediting bodies.
- Support patient satisfaction initiatives by reviewing feedback from patients and their families, implementing improvements based on identified concerns.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, patient safety, and excellence in care by promoting team collaboration and communication.
- Manage patient grievances and complaints per regulatory guidelines.

- Hourly: $28.82 - $43.62

- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Certification:
- Certification in Healthcare Quality (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ]) preferred or willingness to obtain.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare quality or related roles, with a preference for experience in inpatient psychiatric care or behavioral health settings.
