Wellfully has an opening for a fulltime Unit Coordinator.
Summary of Duties
Each employee is expected to meet WellFully’s Code of Conduct, Professionalism and Ethics. The Unit Coordinator is responsible for providing daily supervision of team of Youth Development Specialists and addresses performance related issues through corrective action and/or dismissal. Assists Youth Development Specialist in resolving work related conflicts, concerns, and complaints.
Responsibilities
· Daily supervision of team of Youth Development Specialists, Youth Development Trainer and Unit Associate Coordinator and addresses performance related issues through corrective action and/or dismissal.
· Assists Youth Development Specialist in resolving work related conflicts, concerns, and complaints.
· Interviews potential employees.
· Trains Youth Development Specialists on the care and supervision of youth by providing hands on training and assisting in ongoing training needs. Responsible for timely completion of all training requirements for Youth Development Specialists. Reflected in satisfactory internal and DSS audits.
· Implements and maintains the therapeutic environment, providing a balance of nurturance, limit setting and boundaries while demonstrating understanding of the youth’s emotional needs at all times.
· Conducts weekly Youth Development Specialist meetings and ensures documentation is completed. organize an agenda as assigned. Agenda will be provided to the Unit Director and Youth Development Specialists along with weekly summary email.
· Alerts Clinical Director and/or Unit Director to any concerns related to the living environment, operations, programs, safety, and other items as needed.
· A priority is to ensure the safety of our residents.
· Assists units when needed to help with crisis situations, staffing issues, transportation needs, etc.
· Monitor groups to ensure they are therapeutic and appropriate.
· Provide positive and appropriate role modeling.
· Maintain communication with unit staff, counseling staff and other individuals as required.
· Fill gaps in the schedule by asking other Youth Development Specialists to help out or working the open shift as a last resort.
· Monitor’s camera recordings on a regular basis and utilizes findings to provide safety for youth and guidance for Youth Development Specialists. Weekly summary of completion provided to Clinical Director and Unit Director along with immediate review following any significant event.
· Resolve callouts and call designated on-call Youth Development Specialists for that day.
· Update schedule when needed.
· Ensure adherence to daily shift schedule including timeliness of Youth Development Specialist and absentee coverage. Address employees that arrive late for shift. Send daily update regarding schedule, documentation of changes as requested by supervisor.
· Responsible for turning in signed timesheets and an actual schedule of hours worked by Youth Development Specialist for the preceding week to the Unit Director.
· Attend clinical meetings, Youth Development Specialists meetings and Youth Development Trainer Meetings.
· Complete end of shift reports.
· Assist as needed with audits.
· Ensure lice checks, room checks, and skin checks are completed as assigned.
· Plans, implements, and participates in recreational activities with the adolescents.
· Maintain thorough appropriate client documentation and collect records, and date as necessary.
· Provide timely notification of incidents as required by funding agency.
· Attends and actively participates in weekly team meetings, group supervision, and psycho educational group on the units.
· Provide on-call services as scheduled and respond to the facility if needed.
· Maintain documentation related to incident reports and client files each shift.
· Handle grievances as needed.
· Assist programs as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High School Degree. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred. Prior experience preferred with special needs population, especially chemically dependent and/or emotionally, behaviorally disturbed population.
· Possess communication, planning, and time management skills.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
· Exercise discretion and confidentiality.
· Active Med Aide Certificate.
· SCM Trainer.
· Complete Safe Crisis Management training as required by state agency.
· Complete annual training as required and provided.
· Maintain active CPR Certification.
· Complete two step TB Test as required by state agency.
· Current driver’s license & proof of insurance.
· Cleared through the Central Registry for Abuse and Neglect and the Division of Criminal Investigation.
· Must be 21 or older.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to perform crisis intervention techniques to control a physically acting out adolescent.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
This position reports to the Unit Director.
Note: Applicants who have been charged with a DUI within the past 5 years or have ever been charged with a violent crime are ineligible for employment with WellFully.
