Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a rural hospital in Vermont. This assignment involves working in a Critical Access Hospital with a non-designated trauma level, managing both high volume/low acuity and low volume/high acuity cases.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency department environment, providing high-quality patient care, performing intubations, ventilation management, and line placements. This role also requires adaptability to work in a rural setting, collaborating with other staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages and acuity levels
- Perform basic ER procedures, intubations, and ventilation management
- Place lines in the absence of specialists
- Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Collaborate with other physicians, APPs, and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Manage both high volume/low acuity and low volume/high acuity cases
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Requirements
- Licensed to practice medicine in Vermont
