Position Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Process Management
- Evaluate hospital performance regularly to ensure operational initiatives are on track, within budget, and aligned with overall business goals.
- Collaborate with Practice Managers and departmental leaders to identify and address challenges, remove barriers, and continuously optimize processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Resume service and support from the handoff of newly integrated veterinary practices into the larger organization, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with company values and operational standards.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement solutions that enhance operational performance, patient care, and client satisfaction.
- Provide top-tier service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently met across all hospitals.
- Align resources and support newly integrated practices into the larger organizational framework.
- Partner with Practice Leadership to ensure an exceptional client experience, including managing the wellness program, practice management software, marketing resources, and other operational tools.
- Partner with Practice Leadership to support a workplace culture centered around wellness for the pets, people, and community.
- Serve as a key medical operational partner, assisting in hospital initiatives that align with the organization's overall mission and values.
- Take full ownership of the P&L for your designated market, ensuring hospitals meet key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Drive KPI performance through data analysis, best practices, and follow-up to achieve consistent results across multiple locations.
- Support the rollout of company-wide initiatives, ensuring consistent implementation and alignment with overall organizational objectives.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and communication to Practice Managers to improve hospital performance and create a supportive, high-performing culture.
- Serve as a coach and facilitator for the use of organizational systems, tools, and resources, including practice management software, wellness programs, and performance management systems.
- Ensure that hospital teams are fully equipped and trained on operational systems to maintain a high level of service, efficiency, and compliance.
- Support ongoing training initiatives related to practice management and operational efficiency.
- Participate in additional meetings and projects as needed to support organizational growth and improvement.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in multi-site operations management, ideally in the veterinary or healthcare industry (ex: dental or vision space).
- Associate or Bachelor's degree and/or CVPM or LVT.
- 4 years of leadership experience, including managing teams or supervising employees.
- 3 years of project management experience, with a proven ability to meet competing deadlines.
- Experience in the veterinary or pet health industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with the greater Seattle market.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal, and written, with strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and eagerness to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
- Technical proficiency with Office 365, Excel (intermediate), and other business management software.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring teams.
- Expertise in managing projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with Covetrus Pulse for veterinary practice management software.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues is a plus.

- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time, including 10% overnight travel by car or air to visit hospitals within the WellHaven community and new acquisitions in various states.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet state-required auto insurance coverage.
- Flexibility with work schedule is required to accommodate variations in work demands, including occasional weekend work.
- Primary work is performed in an office environment or home office setting.
- Extensive use of computers and phones, up to 10 hours per day.
- Travel may require sitting for extended periods.
