Prerequisites:
· Safe driving history and possess a valid license.
· Able to walk long distances, and continually move throughout the workday.
· Willingness to work outdoors year-round.
· Comfortable working around electricity/gas and proficient in using electronic handheld devices.
· Ease to predominately work alone and retain a courteous and professional demeanor.
· Dexterity with basic hand tools; technical or mechanical experience preferred but not required.
· Ability to communicate with utility customers and teammates clearly and concisely.
· A team player with a pro-active, teachable mindset, willing to work in a fast-track environment.
Responsibilities:
· Follow all standard operating procedures and company policies.
· Arrive on time to field office and participate in pre-deployment safety talks with local team.
· Evaluate daily workload and utilize provided navigation tools to plan and efficiently complete appointments and route assignments.
· Provide notification to utility customers and effectively explain work to be performed.
· Read utility meters, review customer meter assembly panels, and accurately document observations on provided handheld device.
· Retain and utilize instructed operating knowledge and safety techniques in all aspects of work.
· Properly don protective gear to securely and proficiently upgrade/exchange utility meters.
· Safely operate company-provided work vehicle and perform periodic vehicle safety checks.
· Stock provided vehicle with new utility meters/modules and ancillary material, return old meters and material, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
*Note: Limited positions available. Recruitment effort consists of initial interview, additional interviews, authorization for release of driving history, background, and a substance screening for illegal drugs.
