POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Packaging Line Lead and/or Packaging Supervisor. The Filler Operator shall be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to Ensuring the filler equipment is properly setup and producing quality product. Determine and report malfunctions to direct Lead and or Supervisor. The Filler Operator must ensure that the correct product supply tanks are connected at all times, well performing periodic quality checks and documenting the results. Performing housekeeping and cleanup while following all safety rules and ensuring all GMPs’ and quality standards are met.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with line opening on the packaging lines with Quality Assurance and Packaging Lead
• Perform and document a wide variety of inspections, checks test and samples during the production process
• Maintain all quality and production paperwork including bottle and cap tracking logs, area line clearance, room and equipment cleaning and sanitation, and production specification sheets
• Ensure all safety rules and regulations are being followed
• Maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) whenever needed
• Must be able to identify product names and lot numbers
• Ensure product quality throughout the filling process
• Ensure the work area is maintained cleaned throughout the shift
• Ensure compliance of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) are being followed
• Performs equipment setups (i.e. filler, capper, FT system, Enercon, and Bevco bottle washer)
• Must have basic knowledge of one type of filler
• Performs equipment adjustments as needed
• Responsible for the overall operation of the filling room
• Must be able to work unsupervised
• Responsible for reporting equipment problems to Packaging Lead and/or Supervisor
• Responsible for reporting unauthorized persons on site to their Lead, Supervisor and/or Manager who will address the situation accordingly
• Responsible for the inventory and accurate count of all returned components
• Responsible for reporting food safety issues to Lead and/or Supervisor
• Perform other duties as directed by the Lead and/or Supervisor
REQUIRED EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of machine operation experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or other cGMP compliant industries.
• Strong understanding of cGMP standards, with a proven ability to operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills are required
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
• Effectively carrying out routine task with follow up, also being able to adapt to changes in schedule and staff throughout the day
• Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed

• Occasionally lifting 25lbs and carrying 15lbs
• Rarely lifting 25lbs of weight to shoulder level
• Occasionally work at and/or above shoulder level, reaching with hands and arms for grasping and manipulation of objects
• May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e. production equipment, pneumatic blowers)
• May work in areas with mechanical moving parts and occasionally in areas of loud manufacturing noise
• May be exposed to humidity, intense heat, areas with possible air contamination and chemicals
