We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized bookkeeper to join our growing team at a private country club. Applicants must possess a YES attitude and a desire to do the right thing at all times. In this position, you will play a key role in managing the finances of our business, including creating financial transactions and generating relevant reports. You will also collaborate and communicate with employees, vendors, members and customers to ensure accuracy of financial transactions. The club is growing so we do a little bit of everything to ensure the success of the club. This will include assisting the team in marketing and event planning.

Bookkeeper/Accounting/Admin Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software and regularly reconciling accounts.

* Assist maintaining fiscal record keeping and responsibilities coordinated with the annual budget. Ensure proper internal controls over receipts and disbursements.

* Process accounts payable invoices to accounting software ensuring management approvals, proper General Ledger coding, and proper vendor terms; Acquire and document W9 for year-end 1099 reporting

* Assist department managers with cost center purchasing processes including ensuring proper authorization of spending, receipt documentation and approvals, general ledger coding, and input to accounting software for payment processing. Provide budgetary reporting for management review upon request.

* Prepare and issue monthly or other required member and customer invoices from Point of Sale software systems. Coordinate billing information and requirements with managers and Point of Sale Systems. Ensure proper posting of receipts to customer accounts through Point of Sale Systems. Reconcile Accounts Receivable to general Ledger and provide support to collections activities through aging and other pertinent reports.

* Assist management with proper posting of required payroll data and ensure timely processing of payroll. Communicate timely with Management and Accountant to ensure sufficient cash requirements for payrolls processed.

* Assist management with reporting and compliance for Government licenses, Human Resource and Insurance policy matters

* Manage the office petty cash fund.

* Maintain an organized and streamlined accounting system.

* Provide other administrative support to management and Accountant as directed.

* This position will assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of club events, activities and membership recruitment.

Bookkeeper Requirements and Qualifications

* Minimum of associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, or relevant field.

* Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.

* Proficient with Sage Intacct using General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Journal entry, and reporting as well as Bill.com.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.

* Experience with retail Point of Sale systems preferred

* Data entry

* Keen attention to detail and ability to keep records and files organized.

* Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator.

* Strong time manager with respect for deadlines.

* Ability to identify errors and solve problems.

* Decisive and critical thinker.

*Notary Public

*Private Golf or Country Club experience is definitely a bonus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
