Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various legal tasks, including research, document preparation, and case management. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice and requires strong administrative skills, a solid understanding of environmental law, and proficiency in legal research tools.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
- Manage case files using iManage software to ensure all documents are organized and accessible.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation by gathering evidence, preparing exhibits, and organizing case materials.
- Maintain accurate records of all legal proceedings and deadlines to ensure compliance with court requirements.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning documents, and managing calendars for attorneys.
- Utilize Lexis-Nexis for comprehensive legal research to aid in case analysis and strategy formulation.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress.
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong background in environmental law is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proficient in legal research methodologies and tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative tasks including document management and proofreading.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple priorities effectively.
