What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at Wellington?
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all plant accounting operations, including cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial statements and operational data to provide insights that drive decision-making.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Collaborate with plant management to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive financial performance improvements.
- Monitor and analyze variances between actual and budgeted results, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with corporate policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Support capital investment analysis and provide financial justification for new projects.
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals at the plant level.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
- 5 years of experience in plant or manufacturing finance, with a strong understanding of cost accounting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
