Position Summary: The Deputy Director of Revenue Cycle Management at WellLife Network is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations related to revenue cycle management, ensuring accurate billing, collections, and cash flow management across the organization. This role supports the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and regulatory billing and cash collection laws, while working to improve efficiency within the revenue cycle functions.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Revenue Cycle Oversight: Support the revenue cycle team in meeting financial goals by ensuring efficient operations across all functions, including billing, collections, and cash flow management.
  • Operational Support: Assist in managing key operational areas such as Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections. Work closely with the Senior Controller and Finance Team to complete monthly billing close processes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track revenue cycle metrics such as denial rates, AR days, and cash flow, and assist with financial forecasting and month-end reporting.
  • Billing & Collections: Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts, including addressing denials and underpayments to maintain the revenue cycle's effectiveness.
  • Business Analytics & Reporting: Help develop and maintain standard business reports and dashboards that offer actionable insights for improving departmental performance.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate with the team to ensure that necessary resources are available for revenue cycle management and assist with evaluating the productivity and performance of staff.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Assist with implementing internal controls and ensuring compliance with regulations related to billing, cash collection, and revenue cycle management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine processes that maximize reimbursement for WellLife Network and support organizational goals.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about regulatory changes affecting the revenue cycle and work with departments to ensure that policies and practices remain compliant with Federal, State, and insurance requirements.
  • Contract Management Support: Assist in managing contracts with insurance carriers to ensure proper reimbursement rates and support the growth of the client network.
  • Provider Relations: Support provider relations with participating insurance carriers, addressing billing and reimbursement issues to ensure smooth operations.
  • Credentialing & Recredentialing: Oversee credentialing and recredentialing processes for WellLife Networks sites and programs with Medicaid, Medicare, MCOs, and commercial insurance plans.
  • Managed Care Billing: Ensure that managed care contracts are billed according to contractual requirements, submitting information to insurance companies in a timely manner.
  • Staff Support & Development: Support the training and development of the revenue cycle team to maintain high levels of performance and ensure team goals are met.
  • Payroll & Attendance Management: Review and approve staff payroll and attendance in line with company policies.
  • Leadership Support: Participate in management meetings to discuss accounts receivable, revenue maximization, and the overall management of receivables.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed about trends in revenue cycle management and behavioral health delivery systems through ongoing professional development and participation in relevant seminars and workshops.
  • Team Goals: Help set and monitor goals for the billing team, including billing, follow-up, and cash posting, ensuring progress toward organizational targets.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Support the maintenance of optimal accounts receivable levels, ensuring systems are running efficiently and that cash flow is consistent.
  • EHR Coordination: Work with the EHR team to maintain service codes and reimbursement rate updates in the AVATAR system.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support departmental and organizational goals

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in the healthcare or behavioral health sectors.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and with external consultants.
