About the Opportunity: As a people leader, you will lead a multi-functional team of product-minded business professionals in support of Health Services systems and initiatives, ensuring business requirements and timelines are met. You will lead this work in a collaborative and highly matrixed environment, partnering with various areas of the Health Services department, product teams, Technology division, vendor stakeholders and more. You will serve as the Agile leader of a team that supports system automation, system configuration, and business validation. This collaborative approach ensures objectives, expected deliverables, and goals are achieved. You will lead and support product team members through their development and success, while removing barriers that may arise for the team. Lastly, you will cultivate ideas, facilitate, and implement process improvement initiatives across the business.
About You: As a leader of others, you will directly impact the success, growth, and development of team members by setting clear expectations, defining accountabilities, providing regular coaching, facilitating change, and providing an overall positive work environment. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience
- 5 years of operational work experience that reflects successful management of complex/integrated business systems, applications, or platforms and operational business processes, driving a team to deliver results, and an understanding of the Agile/Product delivery model.
- Broad understanding of health care system care management systems and operations.
- Problem-solving, optimization experience.
- Financial Services or Insurance industry experience, including knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Leadership skills typically gained through a combination of product/project or informal leadership that demonstrates knowledge of work processes, services, and leadership competencies. Ability to effectively coach and mentor others and lead with a team-centric approach to work through change.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills combined with a creative, continuous improvement-focused approach. Proactively recommends improvements to systems/processes.
- Outstanding workflow management.
- Ability to effectively manage through complexity and ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong group/meeting facilitation skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex information with varied audiences such as internal and external leaders, team members, vendors, or customers.
- Effective consulting skills and the ability to influence others. Proven success building relationships and collaborating with functional and technical teams to drive results.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Proficiency with MS Office suite.
What you will do as a Team Leader for Health Services Business Support:
- Provide leadership and support of business objectives and produce results that are effective, accurate, timely, and on target to meet business and stakeholder needs. Identify, monitor, cascade and communicate strategy and initiatives to team members supporting achievement of overall company result to ensure success and leverage results for future process improvements.
- Provide day-to-day leadership of financial and human resources, primarily focusing on employee and leader coaching, development, performance improvement, coordination, and budgeting for Health Services Business Support.
- With a product centric mindset, lead and support team members in their roles/functions on agile teams with the overall design, development, implementation, and on-going management of processes required to support Health Services business teams and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee monitoring and evaluate effectiveness of current system utilization and use as it relates to business needs/requirements; proactively research, size, and communicate system enhancement opportunities that drive positive outcomes and greater efficiency.
- In collaboration with Health Services leadership, support the identification, prioritization, and implementation of opportunities to integrate services across Wellmark and external partners to promote interventions tied to measurable results. Research and resolve complex business problems and situations through the deployment of technology-based solutions.
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with cross functional team members and leaders from a wide variety of business and technology teams. Demonstrate sound relationship management with business colleagues and stakeholders; is fully aware of and consistently uses team development and change management techniques.
- Lead team to identify business and technical solutions while leveraging solutions to gain efficiencies. Identify, monitor, and communicate critical business metrics to ensure execution success.
- Ensure maintenance of a comprehensive playbook of procedures and artifacts to guide the standard work completed by the team.
- Serve as a key resource and consultant on initiatives aligned with the direction of Wellmark and division strategy. Support Health Services leadership with providing capacity planning information on activities supported by the team.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand industry trends, new innovative programs/service offerings in the market, key competitor offerings, industry consultant recommendations, and services being offered by other Blues plans. Summarize and share these findings with Health Services leadership.
- Comply with regulatory standards, accreditation standards and internal guidelines, remain current and consistent with the standard pertinent to assigned Health Services initiatives.
