Overview
We’re looking for a Director of Creative Services who is equal parts Creative Director and Operational Leader—a visionary who can elevate creative execution while building a best-in-class creative services function. This role will oversee the development of high-impact creative work, establish strong processes to streamline execution, and foster a high-performing team of designers, art direction, trafficking and production members.
The right candidate will have a proven track record of leading creative strategy, production, and execution while managing teams, workflows, budgets, and external creative partners. They should be passionate about storytelling, brand expression, and consumer engagement—and just as obsessed with making sure the creative machine runs smoothly. This is a build-up role, meaning we’re looking for someone who loves setting up best practices, refining creative processes, and driving efficiency while delivering top-tier creative work. This individual will report directly into the CMO.
What You’ll Do
- Creative Leadership: Serve as the in-house Creative Director, ensuring all creative output meets brand standards, delivers on business objectives, and resonates with consumers
- Manage & Develop the Team: Lead, mentor, and inspire a small team of designers, art directors, production specialists, and trafficking experts to produce outstanding creative work
- Process & Workflow Optimization: Build, refine, and implement best-in-class creative workflows—from briefing and concepting to execution and delivery—ensuring efficiency without compromising creativity
- Creative Strategy & Execution: Drive the development of campaigns, packaging, digital, social, retail, and brand assets, ensuring cohesive storytelling across all touchpoints
- Resource & Production Management: Oversee internal and external production processes, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and at the highest quality
- External Agency & Partner Management: Select, oversee, and manage external creative and design agencies, freelancers, and production vendors, ensuring they deliver high-quality work that aligns with the brand’s vision
- Budget Ownership: Develop and manage the creative services budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across internal teams and external partners
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Brand, Packaging, and Sales teams to align creative strategy with business goals
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Keep a pulse on creative trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the team’s output and efficiency
Who We’re Looking For:

- Is a true collaborator, sharing resources, and engages in healthy debate
- Celebrates differences and strives to learn from others who are different from themselves
- Gives back to their community and supports sustainable practices
What You Bring
- 10 years of experience in creative services, design, or art direction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and processes
- Strong Creative Director experience—able to guide concept development and execution across all mediums
- Expertise in managing creative teams (designers, art directors, production artists, trafficking, etc.) and building high-performance teams
- Experience leading trafficking, production workflows, and asset management across digital, print, and packaging
- Strong knowledge of design principles, branding, typography, and digital content creation
- Experience overseeing external creative agencies, freelancers, and vendors, with a strong ability to provide feedback and manage partnerships
- Ability to balance big-picture creative thinking with process and executional excellence
- Experience building a function from the ground up or significantly enhancing an existing one
- A passion for mentorship, team development, and fostering a positive creative culture
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with creative project management tools (e.g., Asana, Wrike, Monday.com)
