Position Summary

Forklift Operator is a full-time hourly position responsible for assisting Productions department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production

• Accurately pull/transfer production material to designated production area using scanners systems.
• Communicate with leadership to ensure efficient and timely delivery of all customer orders.
• Safely operate all machinery required to perform daily duties.
• Complete shipment/transfer and productions product pulls requests by using scanners.
• Load trucks in a safe manner, following company quality and safety policies.
• Complete required truck inspection documentation per Quality policies.
• Unload trucks in a safe manner, following company quality and safety policies.
• Follow internal process to label all finish good material.
• Re-palletize any materials, as necessary.
• Help to anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns and process improvements to achieve maximum customer service and satisfaction with production efficiency.
• Communicate equipment and safety issues and recommendations for improvements.
• Ability to perform in various areas of production as needed.
• Responsible for properly completing proper documentation related to safety, quality, and production.
• Responsible for successfully operating production industrial equipment for area of responsibility.
• Responsible for meeting daily performance standards and schedules
• Required to use computer for entering performance standards and printing necessary documents.

Misc.

• Assist with wrapping and tagging of all pallets of finished product.
• Safely operate sit down electric forklift, stand up reach forklift, scissor lifts and Electric Pallet jacks upon completing company training courses.
• Assist in production departments as needed.
• Operate zebra scanner to process transactions in WADACO warehouse mobile client.
• All other duties as assigned.

Cleaning & Organizing

• Assist with maintaining organized, clean, and safe work areas and equipment.
• Move items from drop zones or storage areas to other designated areas as needed.
• Sweep and mop area, as necessary.
• Dispose of recyclables as well as garbage as needed in the proper receptacles.
• Wear the proper safety equipment and follow proper safety rules.

Safety

• Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
• Responsible to participate in mandatory safety training program requirements.
• Responsible for pedestrian safety at all times when operating heavy equipment.
• Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries.

Quality & Food Safety

• Completes quality and food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.
• Responsible to participate in mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements.
• Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the Quality Policy Manual. Takes actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies.
• Required to report food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system.

Position Requirements

• Required to read and write English, follow verbal instruction, and use simple math.
• Required to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils, and greases.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Good math and analytical skills
