Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and compassionate Personal Care Workers (PCWs) to provide in-home care services on an on-call basis. The ideal candidate will be available to work on short notice to assist clients with personal care tasks, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and running errands. This position is perfect for those seeking flexible hours or supplemental income.
Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays on-call hours 2:30-3:00. Once office calls, will have to complete full work shift anywhere from 4 hours up to 12 hours for the shift being called for.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, shaving, nail care, and toileting.
- Provide light housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Cook light meals and ensure clients’ nutritional needs are met.
- Run errands such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and other client needs.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with mobility and transfers.
- Report any changes in the client’s condition to the office or supervisor.
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by the client’s healthcare team.
- Maintain client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
- Must be able to start a shift within 1 hour of receiving a call from the office.
- Must be on-call 3 days a week and available on short notice.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to clients’ homes in Waukesha, WI.
- Must be able to travel to multiple homes in one day to care for different clients, as needed.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Completion of PCW training or relevant experience in personal care.
- Ability to pass a caregiver background check.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a PCW or in a similar caregiving role.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Previous experience providing care to adults with disabilities or the elderly.
