For over 50 years, Wellons has been a leader in providing wood-fired energy systems, lumber dry kilns, and related products and services to the forest products industry. We provide our customers with complete services in design, engineering, and manufacturing, as well as installation services and technical assistance.
We are looking for a fulltime Drafter/Designer for Mechanical Engineering (Inventor/AutoCAD/TEKLA) with at least 1-year Drafting & AutoCAD experience. This position interfaces directly with project lead engineers, standardization, piping, electrical, instrumentation and process engineering. This position includes all activities of mechanical engineering design including but not limited to the following responsibilities outlined below.
Daily planning of work load in order to finish assigned duties within the established deadlines.
- Preparation of 3D models and 2D drawings of heavy equipment and components for biomass fired power-plants, including preparation of BOM’s, requisitions and all related documents for release to the shop and field installation.
- Preparation of layout, assembly models and drawings based on generic instructions.
- Troubleshoot and revise released parts and assemblies.
- Recommend improvements for products and procedures.
- Participate in engineering progress meetings as needed.
- Attend and provide support to internal customers.
Required skills:
- 3-5 years experienced in mechanical detailing.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
- Proficient in Inventor and AutoCAD’s latest release.
- Strong knowledge in MS-Office applications (Excel, Word, Access).
Good knowledge of TEKLA (structural Detailing Software), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and knowledge of requirements and specifications for process and power piping are a plus.
