ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Work with Director of Activities, care staff, and receptionists to ensure that the highest possible number of residents attend each activity.
- Assist in the monthly planning of the activity calendar. Brainstorm with Activity Director to plan and to conduct new activities.
- Update digital signs, menu activity schedules, and movie descriptions.
- Assist with surveying residents and making observations and recommendations to determine what activities are of interest.
- Help to develop and to maintain the daily exercise programming.
- Communicate with the Director of Activities to ensure each program is being implemented to its fullest potential. Provide Activity Director with feedback regarding the effectiveness of current programming.
- Set-up for activities as necessary and assist in clean-up afterward. Clean up and stow away supplies upon completion of activity. Organize supplies and materials in an orderly fashion. Notify the Activity Director in a timely fashion of all supplies that need to be replenished.
- Practice good safety and protect residents from any possible harm. Report all safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with Marketing events
- Plan and lead activities according to monthly calendar and under the direction of Director of Activities.
- Assist in making flyers, calendars, newsletters and updating social media websites as needed
- Work with volunteers such as scheduling, training and organizing day-to-day assignments
- Assist with scheduling transportation or driving vehicles as needed
- Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience: |
CALIFORNIA – For communities licensed for sixteen (16) to forty-nine (49) persons:
For communities licensed for fifty (50) or more persons:
These requirements may be waived if an exception to this requirement is made by the licensing agency upon the community’s written presentation of a satisfactory alternative plan.
Prefer one (1) year of supervisory experience. |

Mathematical Skills: |
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for preparing pricing and producing reports. |
|
Reasoning Skills: |
Understand complex issues and ability to carry out plan of action on own initiative. |
|
Oral/Written Communication Skills |
Demonstrates sound communications skills, both verbally and written in dealing with residents, staff, families, visitors and vendors. Must be able to speak, read and write English. |
|
Equipment Used: |
Be proficient in basic office equipment (including a personal computer) for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining a high level of job performance. |
|
Physical Effort: |
Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test result not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Assist in loading and un-loading of residents into property’s vehicle/van. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Will require physically assisting residents during activities. |

Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families. |

Working Conditions: |
Well-lighted, safe office with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels. Will be working in all resident care areas of the facility. Will accompany residents on outings outside of the property. |

Other: (As required by Title 22) |
Employee must pass a criminal record clearance prior to beginning work in the community. Employee must possess current first aid training. Employee must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. |
