ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Work with the Programs Director, care staff, and receptionists to ensure that the highest possible number of residents attend each activity.
2. Assist in the monthly planning of the activity calendar. Brainstorm with the Programs Director to implement and conduct new activities.
3. Update daily agendas, movie descriptions, mark attendance and upload photos in LifeLoop.
4. Assist with surveying residents and making observations and recommendations to Programs Director regarding the effectiveness of current programming.
5. Help to develop and conduct daily exercise regimens.
6. Set-up activities as necessary and assist in clean-up afterward. Clean up and stow away supplies upon completion of activity. Organize supplies and materials in an orderly fashion. Notify the Programs Director promptly of all supplies that need to be replenished.
7. Practice good safety precautions to protect residents from any harm. Report all safety concerns immediately.
8. Plan and lead activities according to monthly calendar and under the direction of the Programs Director.
9. Assist in making flyers, calendars, newsletters and updating resident profiles in LifeLoop as needed.
10. Work with volunteers and assist in training so they may help with day-to-day assignments.
11. Assist with scheduling transportation and driving community vehicles as needed.
12. Ensure regulatory compliance within WellQuest policies and report any issues or concerns immediately.
13. Arrive to work on time and ensure compliance with meal and break procedures.
14. Ensure lunch schedule is determined with Programs Director to ensure minimal conflict with activities.
15. Assist in the coverage of Reception during breaks or lunches.
16. Other duties as assigned by supervisor to ensure the quality of engagement within programming.
17. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding company, community, and/or department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience: CALIFORNIA – For communities licensed for sixteen (16) to forty-nine (49) persons: · Must have at least six (6) months' experience in providing planned activities or be enrolled in an appropriate education or training program. For communities licensed for fifty (50) or more persons: · Must have one (1) year of experience in conducting group activities and be knowledgeable in evaluating residents’ needs, supervising other employees and in training volunteers. These requirements may be waived if an exception to this requirement is made by the licensing agency upon the community’s written presentation of a satisfactory alternative plan. Prefer one (1) year of senior living experience.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for preparing pricing and producing receipts.
Reasoning Skills: Understand complex issues and ability to carry out plan of action on own initiative.
Oral/Written
Communication Skills Demonstrates sound communications skills, both verbally and written in dealing with residents, staff, families, visitors, and vendors. Must be able to speak, read and write English.
Equipment Used: Be proficient in basic office equipment and technology to accomplish and maintain high job performance.
Physical Effort: Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test result not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Assist in loading and unloading residents into community vehicle/van. Will require physically assisting and pushing residents during activities.
Personal Characteristics: Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
Working Conditions: Well-lit, safe areas with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels. Will accompany residents on outings outside of the community when directed by Programs Director.
Other:
(As required by Title 22) Employee must pass a criminal record clearance prior to beginning work in the community. Employee must possess current first aid training. Employee must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
