The Audit Coordinator will work closely with internal teams, external auditors, and compliance partners to manage and execute audit processes and documentation. This position reports directly to WellRithms’ Corporate Compliance & Document Manager.
Responsibilities
Audit Preparation and Coordination:
- Assist in planning and scheduling SOC 2 and HITRUST audits in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external audit teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, facilitating timely access to required resources and data.
- Compile and maintain comprehensive audit documentation, including policies, procedures, and evidence of compliance for SOC 2 and HITRUST audits.
- Work with internal teams to gather audit evidence and ensure it meets the audit standards.
- Track and document audit findings, action items, and corrective actions required.
- Act as the liaison between internal teams and external auditors, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the audit lifecycle.
- Coordinate responses to audit findings, ensuring timely resolution of non-conformities.
- Maintain accurate audit status and deliverables records, regularly updating senior management.
- Assist in developing and implementing process improvements based on audit findings and best practices.
- Support the compliance team in maintaining readiness for future audits, ensuring ongoing SOC 2 and HITRUST compliance year-round.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- 1- 2 years of experience in audit coordination, compliance, or a related field; healthcare or IT audit experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with SOC 2, HITRUST, and other regulatory standards related to healthcare data security and privacy (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience with audit management tools and software is preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified HITRUST Alliance Professional (CHP), or other relevant audit and compliance certifications are preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare billing or repricing services is preferred.
