Leads and develops R&D plans and strategies which involve taking new and existing products from conceptualization through commercialization while applying learnings, creativity and technical knowledge to add value through innovation.Responsibilities : Leads and develops R&D plans and strategies in support of company objectives.Directs and develops communication involving project needs, status updates and technical advice / consultancy to all stakeholders to promote more efficient and effective deliverables. Recommends and advocates solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.Responsible for leading the team's understanding and application of knowledge of ingredients, products and frozen dessert manufacturing processes for the completion of projects.Mentors and educates less experienced developers in technical guidance and project management. May take on direct line management responsibility for one or more developers and / or temporary employees.Spearheads the activities necessary to take more complex and innovative projects from conceptualization through commercialization while ensuring adherence to NPD processes and critical paths.Uses objectivity on project work by practicing the scientific method : defining the question, gathering and recording information, forming a hypothesis, performing experiments, analyzing data, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions.Influences and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure safety, quality, and legality of manufactured products.Some travel is required.#LI-MG1#ZR#IND123Minimum Requirements : BS required in food / dairy science or related field, Master's Degree preferred.8 years in the food / dairy field.Exceptional knowledge of Food Science / Dairy Science, understanding of R&D business plans and strategies in addition to the company's overall business objectives.Excellent time and project management skills, leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal savvy, prioritization.Ability to think strategically, communicate, collaborate and influence effectively, manage multiple tasks within various projects, develop others, and foster effective working relationships.Wells Enterprises is an EEO / AA employer M / F / Vet / Dis.#J-18808-Ljbffr
