About this role :

Wells Fargo is seeking a dynamic and driven financial services professional with a proven track of success in financial advisor, BD, or RIA recruiting to serve as is RIA Business Development Director. This individual will be responsible for standing up the business development infrastructure of the RIA Solution channel to include processes, systems, and resource alignment during the channel development phase, then evolving as the firm subject matter expert charged with educating and collaborating with firm and channel specific business development and field management resources on presenting the RIA Solutions services. This role will oversee a small team of internal and external business development officers as the channel scales up.

In this role, you will :

Work closely with Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) product areas, tech product areas, third party vendors, centers of excellence, WIM leadership, and WF Banking leadership in order to ensure that Wells Fargo is competitive in the marketplace, providing a suite of products and services that support the current and future needs of fee-only RIA's
Navigate through complex corporate structure to identify, educate, and ensure competitive products and services capabilities are available for RIA's
Conceptualize, create, and implement executable processes which support the RIA offering
Use your professional network to understand trend, momentum, and strategic shifts in the RIA marketplace, and ensure Wells Fargo RIA Solutions is competitively positioned
Be highly proficient and constructive in your collaborations with leaders within the channel and across the enterprise
Operate with a high degree of energy, activity, enthusiasm, and purpose
Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications :

8 years of Business Growth Strategy experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following : work experience, training, military experience, education

4 years of Management experience

5 years of proactive sales experience in the financial services / RIA industry

Successfully completed Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 examination (or FINRA recognized equivalents) sufficient to qualify for immediate FINRA registration

Desired Qualifications :

5 years with RIA custodian, RIA aggregator, RIA FinTech, or RIA consultant

Experience managing a sales or practice management team

Experience developing and implementing a financial services recruiting sales process

FINRA registration including one or more of the following : FINRA Series 66, 24, or FINRA recognized equivalents

Bachelor's degree

Job Expectations :

Obtaining and / or maintaining appropriate FINRA license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9 / 30 / 2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required.

This role requires a FINRA supervisory license and may require working in the assigned office location for at least one year from the hire date. Any supervisory role employee holding a FINRA supervisory license, who has answered affirmatively to certain Form U4 Section 14 regulatory questions / disclosures, will be ineligible to work from a location other than their assigned office location.

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

May be expected to travel up to 75% of the time.

Salary Range :

144,400 - 300,000

Actual salary is determined by location, experience and qualifications of the job
