About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Counsel to work in the Enterprise Risk Programs and Governance section of the Regulatory & Risk Division of the Legal Department. For additional information on this line of business, refer to the external Careers Site at Wellsfargo.com/career.
In this role you will:
- Support activities relating to the enterprise regulatory change management process.
- Review and analyze state and federal legislation and regulations applicable to all areas of the company.
- Support the company's efforts in maintaining a regulatory inventory.
- Develop subject matter knowledge and risk assessment skill and builds relationships with internal and external clients.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate within the department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of Wells Fargo.
- 6 months of law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Demonstrated excellence in legal writing skills, for example, membership or leadership position on a law review or other journal, teaching assistant position for a legal writing class, legal writing-related award, or judicial clerkship or internship.
- Ability to research law and regulations and develop advice with respect to complex legal issues using public as well as company websites and databases.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working in a fast paced highly complex environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and Active State Bar Membership must be obtained within 1 year of hire date
