Wells Fargo is seeking a strategic, result-driven Technology Director - File Transfer Services to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of secure and scalable file transfer technologies across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in file transfer and associated protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, managed file transfer platforms), cybersecurity best practices, and experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives involving data exchange, automation, compliance, and risk and controls. The candidate should also have an understanding of cloud technologies, data center migrations, and artificial intelligence.

- Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
- Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
- Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
- Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
- Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
- Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
- Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
- Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
- Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- 8 years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5 years file transfer experience in financial services, healthcare, supply chain, or insurance.
- 4 years of management or leadership experience
- Strong expertise with secure file transfer protocols and platforms and solutions from Axway and IBM.
- Solid understanding of network architecture, encryption methods, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and large initiative management skills.
- Experience leading the architecture, development, and operations of file transfer systems ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient data exchange between internal and external platforms.
- Overseeing a team of engineers responsible for file transfer infrastructure and software to include custom developed software.
- Knowledge of compliance with data governance policies, industry regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, SOX, etc.).
- Experience developing and enforcing file transfer SLAs, monitoring, and incident response processes.
- Experience driving innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and integrating automation tools for improved efficiency and scalability.
- Managing vendor relationships, licensing, and service contracts related to file transfer platforms.
- Preparing and managing budgets, initiative timelines, and resource planning.
