Exadata Grid Lead Specialty Engineer

In this role, you will:

• Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
• Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
• Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
• Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
• Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
• Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
• Mentor less experienced software engineers
• Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
• Lead team to achieve objectives
• Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 5 years of experience of with working with Large (TBs) databases, preferably Oracle Exadata Grid
• 5 years of experience with Database Engineering and thorough understanding of data masking techniques to retain referential integrity
• 5 years of experience of scripting language (Python/Perl preferred)
• 5 years of Unix/Linux experience

Desired Qualifications:

• 5 years of Sybase SQL or MS SQL Server experience
• 5 years of database (DB) technologies experience
• 5 years of experience in supporting software development life cycle for large-scale distributed technology projects and migrations
• Experience in leading the complex or critical data/ database management initiatives and projects
• Experience with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both
• Experience managing one or more industry-standard development tools or scripting languages
• Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience with automation a plus.
• Experience with supporting and building REST interfaces and data exchange mythologies is preferred
