The Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) group supports the Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking businesses as well as Payment Solutions, Capital Markets Services, Wholesale Digitization, and International Technology across the firm. This diverse portfolio of capabilities spans multiple technology disciplines and strategic innovations. CCIBT provides strategic, enterprise-wide technology capabilities and enabling services to our lines of business and management of the applications in terms of skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and cost.
The Lead Software Engineer candidate will be part of an Agile team supporting a legacy wire payment processing application.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5 years of Oracle experience
- 3 years of experience in Full-stack or Java core/back-end development
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with skill such as: Java/SpringBoot/SpringCloud/Microservices, Kafka/Messaging, REST API, Redis/Distributed Caching, Postgres/MongoDB/Oracle, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift, Junit/Mockito, ELK/Prometheus/Grafana, AWS/Azure/GCP, ReactJS, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, Jest/Cypress.
- Experience in handling an application written in C Language.
- Knowledge on Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, Postman, Java, Javascript, Linux Shell scripting, SQL, JUnit, JMeter, Jenkins/CICD.
- Expertise in Java programming, test automation tools, SDLC practices, and infrastructure design, while also highlighting the importance of collaboration and T-shaped engineering.
- Experience in Finance or Banking focus on payment applications (SWIFT, FED, CHIPS, FUS, M2M).
- Extensive experience with Java programming and the development of automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Expertise in test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, etc. Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Deep understanding of SDLC practices, including Agile and DevOps methodologies, and experience in test-driven development (TDD).
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies
- Payments processing experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability.
- Proficient and have a thorough understanding of OPENSHIFT/Azure/GCP Platform knowledge.
- Experience in handling an application using MQ Messages, Kafka
- Experience in Linux server scripts, Perl Scripts and Commands.
