About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Market Risk Specialist.This role will be primarily focused on the reporting, monitoring and what-if pricing associated with the Standard Initial Margin Model (SIMM) requirements. This includes interaction with external counterparties around SIMM reconciliation as well as working with internal business partners to explain observed changes or differences. In addition, the successful candidate will also be expected to work with other members on the team for reporting related to xVA Trading, Structured Solutions Trading and Fixed Income Structured Notes Trading.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in developing, maintaining and providing oversight of market, interest rate and counterparty risk activities across the enterprise
- Identify opportunity to ensure risk remains within established risk appetite in Market Risk
- Perform or evaluate basic risk models such as trading, market, interest rate, delivery and counterparty credit risk exposures
- Ensure that risks within the business are properly identified and consistent with the Risk Management Framework
- Present recommendations for resolving risk issues, limits or capital use and provide reporting while also assessing theory and mathematics behind various models
- Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise to perform activities for evaluating and approving risk models
- Collaborate and consult with management and board of directors to provide periodic or scheduled risk reports that present a companywide view of risk management
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of market risk, Capital Markets, desk analyst, trading, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

- I would expect the candidate to be able to come in and after a short period of time be able to independently produce the various reporting deliverables of the team. This includes not only generating the report, but having the ability to perform independent investigation of the results to identify items of note.
