Wells Fargo Compliance Group is the company's compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations, and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. In This Role, You Will
- Support the Enterprise Compliance Program Policy, as it relates to Home Lending Servicing functions, including coordinating with the front line, risk and compliance teams on metric development and enhancement, monthly metric reporting, monitoring and escalations, engagement in complex systemic projects for regulatory impact, etc.
- Consult with partners and develop, implement, challenge and monitor a comprehensive suite of risk-based metrics designed to identify root cause in adherence to key Home Lending Service functions
- Provide subject-matter guidance for home lending related topics
- Monitor metric results and identify breaches of risk appetite and key indicators, oversee and challenge root cause analysis and facilitate action plan remediation, as needed
- Escalate breaches in a timely manner to appropriate governance committees and business leadership
- Communicate and present complex analysis to management, front line, risk partners, legal and audit specific to performance of key Home Lending servicing functions
- Collaborate to assist and identify regulatory impact within the agile framework, challenge business requirements that translate business needs into complex analysis designs and recommendation
- Lead creation and/or review and challenge of new/updated procedures and guidelines; considered subject matter expert
- Lead implementation of complex initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple areas
- Works independently, leads projects and mentors but does not manage other employees
- Build relationships with corporate, business leaders, Legal, Audit, CRO, Operations Risk partners, Control, regulators, and industry partners on risk related topics.
- Provide direction to the business on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing regulatory change.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Work with complex business units, rules and regulations on moderate to high-risk compliance matters.
- Interface with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics
- 4 years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Strong understanding of mortgage servicing business processes, risk and control requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of risk-based regulatory compliance including the industry and Consumer Protection laws and regulations that apply to Default or Performing Home Mortgage Servicing
- Experience communicating and coordinating with senior management, Front Line Control Executive teams, the Law Department, Internal Audit and external customers as necessary
- An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong working relationships and coordinating with stakeholders to achieve goals
- Strategic vision to drive and execute change both with partners and amongst their team
- Ability to integrate compliance requirements across a large, highly complex business
- Experience serving as regulatory compliance advisor to business management
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear, simplified manner
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
