Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting all departments with maintenance and upgrade projects; ensuring all equipment and infrastructure is in good repair and working order.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and prioritize job duties with leadership staff.
- Perform routine diagnostic checks and required preventative maintenance on automated systems, equipment, machinery, and forklifts per preventative maintenance schedule.
- Timely and effective repair of automation systems, machinery, equipment, and forklifts throughout the distribution center.
- Isolate issues, order repair parts, and perform repairs on all automation systems and machinery including servos, sensors, and control components.
- Perform general facility maintenance (internal and external).
- Use work methods that reflect a safe work environment/condition for self and fellow employees.
- Work independently to accomplish priorities and adjust priorities to meet unexpected work requests by the distribution center departments.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area.
- Be actively involved in proactive measures towards safety for self and coworkers.
- Support all Lean initiatives.
- Other job activities as assigned.
Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED; Associate Degree preferred; 4-6 years prior maintenance experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Intermediate knowledge of automation and mechanical processes and systems required
- Effective communication skills including the ability to relay information in an appropriate manner from one party to another concerning equipment issues
- Ability to work safely at heights of 40 feet or more, using proper PPE and equipment
- Basic skills in the following areas as well as the ability to use these skills when troubleshooting or providing support activities: automated systems, electricity, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatic, mechanical, plumbing, welding, basic carpentry
- Flexibility to work overtime without notice to complete maintenance jobs started during the shift or assigned and not completed during the shift. Also available for overtime when distribution departments scheduled for overtime.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and work instructions or procedure manuals
- Math skills used add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Critical thinking skills are necessary to solve practical problems.

- Lift trucks, skyjack, pallet jack, automated picking equipment, basic hand, and power tools
Personal Protective Equipment/Clothing Required (PPE):
- Cut proof gloves, safety harness, welding mask, safety glasses or any other task specific PPE as required.
