ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operates specialized machinery such as telescope booms, Mi-Jack shuttle lifts, and overhead cranes.
- Calculates load capacity, determining weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of crane based on manufacturers specifications.
- Inspects clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure there are no accidents or damage to employees, buildings, loads, or equipment.
- Inspects and assesses ground conditions to ensure that the crane can be set up safely.
- Inspects cranes for defects and wear prior to operation; performs necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices.
- Maintains logs and records of operation activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
- High School Diploma or GED. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Often required to sit and use their hands and fingers.
- The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift andor move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift andor move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Employees must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
