ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes pre-operational and post-operational inspections on all job-related equipment to include tractors and trailers. Submits report regarding the condition of the vehicle.
- Interstate driver via traveling throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Indiana and other states where jobs are contracted for work.
- Reads trucking schedule and Bill of Lading to determine delivery assignment.
- Completes required DOT and company related paperwork.
- Maintains digital log via JJ Keller to track DOT compliance.
- Applicant must maintain active cellular services that meets the eligibility requirements on a functional device while receiving the Cellular Reimbursement monthly amount. Personal Cellular device must be capable to be configured to synchronize email, app, contracts, and calendar events with the companys network systems.
- Following established Wells and DOT specifications to ensure the securement of each load (includes but not limited to using straps, chains, ratchets, binders), before leaving for a jobsite and upon returning from a job site.
- Performs regular vehicle maintenance checks to ensure maintenance of all assigned equipment including but not limited to all securements, confirming that they are in good working order at any given time.
- Completes DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) daily per DOT specifications. Includes servicing the tractor/trailer with fuel and basic maintenance, i.e. replacing fuses, etc.
- Operates equipment in accordance with DOT and company rules; adheres to all local, county, state and federal laws.
- Ensures that they have the required permits from dispatch in hand prior to leaving for a jobsite. Alerts appropriate supervisor if they do not have permit.
- Delivers products to customers at the agreed upon time.
- Follows instructions, guidelines and procedures timely and accurately.
- Continually and actively seeking to learn new skills and progress in level of responsibility.
- Looks for ways to improve processes, reduce errors and increase efficiencies.
- Always maintains neat and clean truck.
- Ensuring the department and perimeter are tour ready by performing routine department housekeeping tasks for the dispatch area. This could include but is not limited to ensuring their trailers are clear of all snow/debris, straightening up the dunnage rack, putting away dunnage from trucks, sweeping or shoveling perimeter using shovel or snowblower, ensuring that all trash and debris is picked up/cleared from dispatch office perimeter.
- Adhering to safety standards while in the yard and on job sites.
- Operating hand tools including ratchets, lift loops and other equipment to secure loads.
- Driving Wells vehicles including tractor and trailer as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience driving tractor/trailers on public roadways is required.
- Valid Class A commercial driver License Tier 1, T endorsement, with a clear driving record/history is required.
- Ability to physically secure loads to trailers using chains, straps and clamps.
- Ability to drive a tractor/trailer while hauling oversize and heavy loads.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively
- Ability to get to work on time, daily.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including occasional overnights and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally.
- Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.

- Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
- Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
