General Description
The EHS Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in assisting with the planning, coordination, training, and advisement of Wells’ safety program. The role will collaborate with plant, field, and contractors to achieve Wells’ safety strategy and goals. The role is responsible for administering safety auditing, training and education, tracking certifications and licenses, ensuring proper workers compensation reporting/handling, proper OSHA recordkeeping and compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, conducting incident investigations, while driving Wells’ safety cultures. This position reports to the EHS Director with dotted line responsibility to the onsite EHS Manager.
Pay range of $23.61-$31.94 based on experience.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Stay up-to-date on current environmental, health and safety regulations, maintaining knowledge of emerging issues and trends in safety.
- Builds a safety culture and holds employees at all levels accountable for demonstrating behaviors that embrace the safety culture.
- Educate all levels of employees on Wells’ safety standards and expectations.
- Create Safety Committee agenda and lead monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Performs Job Safety Analyses and audits and implements changes accordingly.
- Provides OSHA compliance and other safety training and maintains records to comply with all OSHA guidelines.
- Provides new hire orientation for new employees.
- Immediately rectify unsafe acts, as well as recognize behaviors to reinforcing their repetition.
- Manage job-related injuries to ensure the injured employee receives proper medical treatment.
- Manages workers compensation cases as needed.
- Completes accident investigations to drive out root cause and eliminate from future occurrences.
- Assist in ensuring all environmental permits are current.
- Ensures spills are managed per internal policy and reported as required.
- Assist with SDS files and updates as needed.
- Provide field safety support as needed to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- High school diploma required.
- 2-3 years safety support or related administrative experience preferred
- Associates degree in related field preferred
- Experience using data-based systems, i.e. learning management software, or other relational data base
- OSHA experience a plus
- Spanish language skills highly desirable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote and Sharepoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as a part of a departmental and cross-functional team.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to self-manage and self-motivate
- Capable of working under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
