General Summary
Works with the Crisis Manager to develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the activities of the Crisis Intervention program. Acts as an educational liaison and engagement coordinator between the Lebanon County Crisis Intervention Program and the community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates with Lebanon County MH/ID/EI on educational programming regarding Crisis Intervention Program and the Mental Health Procedures Act.
- Acts as a liaison and coordinator of services to system, counselors, and community by representing the organization at various community meetings and events, interacting with community leaders or stakeholder organizations, interacting with the community to set up activities at the request of the community, and serving as a behavior health and behavior health education resource for community and the system.
- Represents Crisis Intervention in a variety of committees and community task forces (Suicide Prevention, Homeless Coalition, Team MISA, Better Together, etc.)
- Trains and orients Crisis staff in collaboration with the Crisis Manager.
- Participates in a variety of committees and community task force (Suicide Prevention, Homeless Coalition, Team MISA, Better Together, etc.).
- Acts as the Emergency Behavioral Health Coordinator for Lebanon County. (DCORT, CISM)
- Educates and coordinates Crisis Intervention services with law enforcement and first responders.
- Educates and coordinates Crisis Intervention services with schools.
- Conducts educational sessions on Crisis Intervention to system employees and community agencies, including WellSpan Behavior Health Consultants, the VA, and Lebanon County departments.
- Provides Emergency Behavioral Health debriefings for first responders.
- Provides on-call services as scheduled.
- Assists with program marketing and publicity for activities.
- Builds positive working relationships with law enforcement, schools, social service agencies, and the community.
- Consults on complex case review as needed.
Common Expectations:
- Collaborates and coordinates with Lebanon County MH/ID/EI, county agents, and other agencies, represents the organization at various community meetings and events, and assists with program marketing and publicity for activities.
- Collaborates and coordinates with the Crisis Manager.
- Builds positive working relationships and acts as a behavioral health education resource person with the system, community, law enforcement, schools, social service agencies, and the community, including providing outstanding service to all customers; fostering teamwork; conducting educational sessions on crisis intervention with regards to the Mental Health Procedures Act; interacting with the community to set up activities at the request of community groups and organizations; and practicing fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Participates in developing and revising departmental policies and procedures, supporting and enforcing departmental and organizational policies as well as state and federal accreditation standards.
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitors, and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize the process and “error proof” systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age groups.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Participates as a member of a variety of committees. Interfaces with other departments and physicians to ensure the provision of an appropriate service delivery and referral system.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Degree Human Services, Crisis, or related field. Required
Work Experience:
- 3 years Experience in coordinating a DCORT Team and in facilitating and participating in community debriefing. Required
- Supervisory experience. Preferred
Licenses:
- Certified Disaster Crisis Outreach and Referral Professional Upon Hire Required and
- Certified in Critical Incident Stress Management Upon Hire Required
Driver's License Statement:
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent human relations and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Comfortable with and demonstrates experience in public speaking.
