General Summary
Performs a variety of technical and general duties. Functions in one or more laboratory division.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of routine and specialized histology techniques in concurrence with established laboratory policies and procedures.
- Supports the preparation of microscopic slides including tissue processing, paraffin block sectioning and H&E staining.
- Produces high-quality slides from frozen or fixed tissues, including trimming, embedding, processing, sectioning using a microtome/cryostat, and staining with appropriate stains.
- Performs equipment maintenance, reagent recycling/reclamation and efficient use of the pathology laboratory information system and specimen tracking system.
- Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 2 years Relevant experience. Required
