One of nine premier hospitals in the WellSpan Health System, WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital’s 274-bed facility provides a community of 156,000 residents leading-edge inpatient, outpatient and emergent care services. The Vice President & President of WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital oversees the effective operation of hospital services within the community served as well as the integration of service lines within. Leads the Hospital's senior management and serves the assigned subsidiary boards as appropriate, participates in leading the integration, coordination, operation and development of the services which we sponsor for the benefit of the patient within the region the Hospital serves. Supports the Hospital in its oversight function and advises system leadership and planning of developments and trends within the acute care facilities region. Positions the Hospital in the region through strong community representation and leadership. Informs the governing body and the medical staff on the overall activities of the Hospital, as well as federal, state and local developments that affect healthcare in the Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports and oversees the effective operation of departments and service lines within the hospital and hospital services throughout the region.
- Ensures coordination with System patient safety, quality, care management, performance improvement, and patient experience processes. Oversees and is accountable for performance and outcomes in these areas in conjunction with appropriate hospital and system senior leaders.
- Effectively participates in and assists in ensuring high quality and economic materials and facility management.
- Actively develops the Hospital aspects of short and long term operational, strategic and financial plans as a component of the System planning process and provides insight into the development of the regional plan for the community the hospital serves. Works closely with the Regional Senior Vice President.
- Cultivates an environment of performance improvement and an understanding of lean and lean daily management.
- Ensures compliance with, and has oversight of, regulatory and accreditation standards for the entity.
- Oversees the successful development and achievement of annual and long-term operating objectives and financial plans.
- Manages the performance of people in direct reporting positions and ensures implementation and administration of System Human Resource policies and practices.
- Represents the Hospital on internal committees and external professional or civic organizations so that the hospital is recognized for their focus on community as a partner within the region.
- Fosters a culture of patient centered, high quality care with a focus on working as one with accountability an expected trait.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Masters Degree Required
Work Experience:
- 8 years healthcare leadership experience in roles showing progressively increased responsibility and scope in a large and complex health care delivery organization required.
- Health care administration, public administration, or business administration experience required.
- Management experience in hospital/health care environment required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven leadership skills.
- Excellent human relations and communications skills.
- Ability to develop and apply relevant management, CQI and health care delivery concepts and strategies.
