Position Summary: The Counseling/ Social Work Graduate Fellowship is designed to provide advanced clinical training for a recent graduate (December 2024 or May 2025) from a counseling or social work program. The Fellow will be oriented to a system of care for youth and women who have experienced or are at-risk of commercial sexual exploitation in community-based and residential treatment settings. This comprehensive training is designed to prepare the Fellow for a robust career in mental health service delivery and advocacy.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
This Fellowship consists of administrative and direct service responsibilities, including:
● Provision of intake assessments and clinical case management for the Transitional Living Program and community-based participants
● Facilitating The Seven Challenges® counseling program for substance use at Receiving Hope Center
● Supporting the Youth Placement Specialist with admissions for the Girls’ Residential Program and Receiving Hope Center
● As-needed coverage of clinical services across programs
● Administrative support for the Clinical Director with implementing expanded clinical training opportunities for mental health staff
● Provide direct, trauma-informed, strengths-based, holistic direct services to participants,
including case management and counseling, as needed.
● Complete required documentation in EHRs, Georgia Score, and Georgia Shines, as needed.
● Transport participants to psychiatry appointments, equine therapy, and other important commitments, as needed.
● Provide additional support for program operations and participant services, as needed.
Participant Engagement and Program Support
● Provide care to program participants without regard to race, gender, ethnicity, religious or spiritual beliefs.
● Provide culturally competent care for participants wondering about their sexuality or gender identity.
● Maintain knowledge of current best practices across Wellspring Living programs, as well as trafficking and trauma, seeking professional growth in evidence-based practices through training and independent study.
Professional Qualifications:
● Recent graduate of a CACREP-accredited counseling or CSWE-accredited MSW program. Programs in the accreditation process will also be considered.
● LAPC or LMSW license-eligible, with plan to pursue licensure during the Fellowship period.
● Strong administrative and organizational skills with computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word and Outlook) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs).
Position Requirements:
● Employment is contingent upon successfully completing pre-employment background checks, including criminal history, fingerprinting, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to ongoing compliance with these checks.
● Possession of a valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
● Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations.
Working Conditions:
● Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work for long periods at a computer.
● Moderate local travel required related to program and training needs, as well as occasional travel beyond the metro Atlanta area.
