As a Direct Support Specialist within the Bethesda Homes at Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of direct support staff and administrative professionals committed to helping individuals in Frankenmuth and Saginaw. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Saginaw County to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
In this position, you'll bring a high school diploma or equivalent and have additional experience with caregiving and working with adults with developmental disabilities, within an in-home care setting (preferred); having a current, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is preferred. You will also have a valid Michigan driver's license and your own reliable transportation, you will be reliable, have a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do.

As a Direct Support Specialist, you will:
- Provides daily care and activities with dignity and respect that are aligned with the ISP to maximize and enhance the quality of their daily living on task by task support that individuals' personal goals and quality of life
- Provides personal care such as administering prescriptions, bathing, dressing, bathroom assistance or housekeeping
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with individual diets and preferences
- Schedule and take individuals to medical appointments, outings, or errands.
- Ensures reporting, care and record keeping is maintained that is aligned with medical orders, state compliance requirements, abuse reporting, court orders and Wellspring quality and internal procedures and guidelines
- Ensures care and residence is fully compliance with all safety protocol
- Provide wound care as needed
- Participate by providing insight into daily activities and interest of an individual in the development and updating of individual support plans.
- Purchase food and supplies as instructed by the Manager.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment always in the Residence.
- Maintain a master calendar of appointments, facility activities, meetings for Residence.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education.
