Hello! Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as a Program Supervisor for the Wellspring Substance Use Disorder Program in Lansing. As a Program Supervisor with Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of social workers and therapists committed to helping families throughout mid-Michigan including Eaton, Ingham, Shiawassee, Clinton, Gratiot counties and the surrounding communities. In this position, you'll directly supporting communities across the region to help families create a supportive and sober community, accessing the resources they need.
You will bring a minimum of three years of experience working with children and families and achievement of or working toward the qualifying clinical experience working with Substance Abuse Disorder clients to achieve required certifications. A Master’s degree in social work OR a human services related field is required. Within three months of hire you will have started the process of a Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) approved development plan toward the achievement of one of the following certifications: Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and you must maintain the MCBAP certification.
As a Substance Use Disorder Program Supervisor, you will:
- Provide individual supervision and professional leadership to direct service staff, support staff and student interns (as applicable). Meet contractual standards for quantity/type of supervision
- Ensure overall unit compliance with contracts, licensing, accreditation guidelines, agency policy, procedure and strategic plan, etc. Complete case reviews quarterly
- Input data per established guidelines into agency and contractor data collection systems
- Handle and coordinate the on-going personnel issues of the unit; i.e. leave records, training records, participate in the recruitment, interview, reference and orientation process for new hires
- Communicate employee performance expectations, conduct new hire six month evaluations and annual evaluations. Develop performance improvement plans where required
- Coordinate the referral and intake process and make appropriate assignments to staff
- Monitor, read and approve all required reports, including incident reports
- Provide some direct service to clients depending on specific contract language or unit structure
- May be required to carry caseload
- Promote staff morale and team building. Encourage collaboration, share wins and successes, create a feeling of belonging. Responsible for the training needs of the unit
- Organize and run regular team meetings
- Interpret agency policy and procedures to staff and serve as a liaison, bringing staff concerns and needs to the Program Manager/Division Director as needed
- Oversee and approve staff expenses and program expenditures including use of specific assistance funds; Manage unit petty cash and checking account as applicable
- Participate as requested as a member of a PQI team or other agency workgroups
- Coordinate services with other agencies/professionals and represent the organization in community networks
- Provide twenty-four (24) hour availability to clients and staff and a flexible work schedule, if contractually required for program
- You may have to transport clients in own vehicle
