About the Role
As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and analyses to diagnose, monitor, and treat various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Analysis: Perform and analyze complex laboratory tests, including hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and molecular diagnostics.
- Equipment Maintenance: Accurately operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, automated analyzers, and diagnostic testing instruments.
- Biological Specimen Collection: Collect, prepare, and process biological specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples for diagnostic testing.
- Result Interpretation: Interpret test results and provide accurate, detailed information to physicians and other healthcare professionals to assist in patient care.
- Quality Control: Ensure the validity, accuracy, and precision of laboratory tests and quality control processes.
- Documentation: Maintain laboratory records, including test results, patient information, and quality control documentation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification: Certified Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or a similar certifying body.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
