About the Role
This role involves providing specialized care to patients with acute or chronic kidney disease who require hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory results, and dialysis-related parameters, ensuring optimal fluid and electrolyte balance.
- Administer dialysis treatments, ensuring equipment is properly set up and functioning, and addressing any complications that arise during dialysis.
- Educate patients on dialysis treatments, including the procedure, expected outcomes, and self-care post-treatment.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
Requirements
- Education: BSN preferred; ADN accepted.
- Licensure:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Certification:
- BLS certification required.
- Dialysis certification (e.g., CNN) preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in dialysis, nephrology, or critical care nursing
