Job Description
An Ultrasound Technologist (General) performs diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images of internal organs, soft tissues, and blood flow. These images assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and small parts imaging, as ordered by the physician.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and positioning them correctly for optimal imaging.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic-quality images, adjusting settings as necessary based on the patient's condition and the area of study.
- Analyze images for quality and accuracy, documenting findings and preparing preliminary technical reports for physician review.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of ultrasound technology and imaging techniques, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
