Job Summary:
An Echocardiography Technologist is a skilled healthcare professional responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations using specialized equipment to create images of the heart. This role involves assisting cardiologists in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular conditions, ensuring high-quality imaging, and providing compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms to assist cardiologists in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular conditions.
- Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment to ensure high-quality imaging.
- Prepare patients for echocardiography exams by explaining the procedure and positioning the patient.
- Document findings and communicate results to cardiologists.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to provide comprehensive cardiac care.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in echocardiography techniques and technology through continuing education.
Requirements:
- Educational background: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field.
- Credentialing: ARDMS certification in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS) or CCI registration as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
- Experience: Prior experience in echocardiography is preferred.
