Job Description:
A Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) plays a vital role in providing care to patients with mental health disorders, emotional challenges, and behavioral issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, including evaluating emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.
- Developing individualized care plans based on patient needs, in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Administering medications and monitoring for side effects, documenting responses appropriately.
- Implementing de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Facilitating group therapy sessions or educational workshops on mental health topics, as applicable.
