About This Role
This oncology RN travel healthcare professional will work closely with oncology teams to deliver comprehensive care to patients diagnosed with cancer.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the patient's specific needs.
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other cancer-related medications according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and provide supportive care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to educate patients and families on cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care practices.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families, addressing the psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis.
- Manage cancer-related symptoms and maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
- Administer supportive therapies and serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring access to necessary resources and support services.
- Stay current on cancer care advancements through ongoing education, training, and professional development.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
