About the Role
The Medical-Surgical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with acute or chronic conditions, including monitoring patients' vital signs and cardiac telemetry readings for abnormalities or arrhythmias.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs, identifying any abnormalities or arrhythmias.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by the physician.
- Document telemetry monitoring findings and nursing actions in patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state and an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required, and Telemetry Nurse Certification is preferred.
