About the Position
This 13-week assignment will provide you with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit and develop your skills in patient care, clinical documentation, and collaboration and communication. As a RN Med Surg nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with a variety of medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and review of laboratory results.
- Determine the appropriate level of care based on the patient's needs and condition.
- Nursing Interventions:
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the patient's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Implement evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and reduce readmissions.
- Clinical Decision Making:
- Use critical thinking skills to make informed decisions about patient care, taking into account the patient's diagnosis, treatment plan, and medical history.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and adjust the care plan as needed.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other caregivers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient care and coordinate services.
