About the Role
The Surgical Team Support Specialist will provide direct assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures. This role requires close collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members to maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing hands-on support, including retraction, suturing, and controlling bleeding (hemostasis).
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
- Prepare and manage surgical instruments, ensuring they are sterile and ready for use.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Certified Nurse First Assistant (CNFA) preferred.
