Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Tele RN)
A Telemetry Registered Nurse (Tele RN) provides specialized care to patients who require continuous monitoring of vital signs, heart rhythms, and other key physiological functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, identifying and responding to abnormal readings or changes in condition.
- Administer medications, perform routine assessments, and provide interventions based on telemetry data to ensure patients' safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to develop and adjust care plans tailored to the needs of patients with cardiac or medical conditions.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and ECGs, recognizing signs of arrhythmias, ischemia, and other cardiac abnormalities.
- Provide patient and family education regarding cardiac conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, ensuring timely responses to changing patient conditions and complications.
- Monitor and assess patients for symptoms of heart failure, hypertension, and other cardiac or medical concerns.
- Administer and monitor telemetry devices, including central telemetry units and mobile monitors, to ensure continuous monitoring of patient cardiac activity.
- Recognize and respond to acute cardiac events such as chest pain, arrhythmias, or other cardiac emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions as needed.
- Document patient care, treatments, and telemetry data accurately and thoroughly, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide discharge planning and education to patients and families regarding medication, lifestyle adjustments, and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
