Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radioactive materials for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures.
- Operate specialized imaging equipment to capture detailed images of organs and tissues.
- Prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures and ensure their comfort.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals through intravenous injections or inhalation as required.
- Analyze and interpret nuclear medicine images to identify normal and abnormal findings.
- Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians to develop treatment plans.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
- Stay current on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Certification:
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in nuclear medicine or imaging required.
