About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Stepdown Nurse in a renowned hospital in Tucson, Arizona.
This is a 13-week contract opportunity with a guaranteed 36 hours per week schedule. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in progressive care, telemetry, or stepdown units and possess excellent clinical skills.
Responsibilities
- Critical Care Nursing: Provide direct nursing care to patients in the PCU Stepdown unit, including monitoring and managing complex medical conditions such as post-surgical recovery, cardiac conditions, and respiratory distress.
- Patient Assessment: Assess patients' conditions, implement and evaluate individualized care plans, and adjust care as needed to meet patients' evolving needs.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to medical protocols.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred for patients with cardiac conditions.
