Job Description
A long-term care registered nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals in long-term care facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patients' progress and ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for long-term care residents.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.
- Monitor and document residents' health status, including vital signs and medication administration.
- Provide education and support to residents and their families on health conditions, care needs, and treatment options.
- Respond to and manage acute and chronic conditions while ensuring timely interventions and care coordination.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations related to long-term care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced certifications such as ACLS or Geriatric Nursing (e.g., CGRN) preferred.
- Previous experience in long-term care, gerontology, or a related setting is highly valued.
